Holy Thursday Morning

Enjoying Erik Varden’s Entering the Twofold Mystery: On Christian Conversion. A good way to begin Triduum. Here is a little verse, written after some reading this morning.

Where, going forth from this good earth,
would I find what I’ve ever sought,
in fettered rage and hungry thought,
art’s sword drawn unto all its art?
Except in You, O living heart,
the home the restless ever turned
from borne to other roads that burned,
when all they wanted was your berth.
